How the typing race works
Your car moves forward as you type the paragraph. Finish the last word correctly and you cross the line. The computer cars drive at a steady speed the whole way:
| Racer | Speed |
|---|---|
| Dial-Up Dan | 25 WPM |
| Modem Mona | 45 WPM |
| Broadband Bea | 70 WPM |
So beating every racer means typing faster than 70 WPM. Your finishing place, speed and accuracy appear at the end. Each race uses one of our practice paragraphs, with capitals and punctuation, so it plays like real-world typing.
Racing tips
- Don't leave typos behind: a wrong word slows you down for the rest of the race.
- Watch the text, not the track. The cars will tell you how you did at the end.
- Hard paragraphs with numbers are slower for everyone. Beating Broadband Bea on one is a real win.
